Custom EFI Maps and Carburetor Tuning

 When you make changes to your bike's engine, even changes as simple as an air cleaner or mufflers, your bike will need to be re-tuned in order to run it's best. A well-tuned Fuel-Injected bike can be a joy to ride. Simply press the starter button and off you go. Smooth running and optimal power and fuel economy are some of the advantages of a properly tuned motorcycle.  A poorly tuned motorcycle is another story. Popping, missing, sputtering, and stalling are symptoms of a bad tune. Even worse, a bad tune can lead to engine damage.  Here at GMS we emphasize to our customers that the dyno sheet showing peak horsepower and torque numbers is only a very small part of the tuning process. We aim to provide you with excellent peak numbers, but more importantly, we spend the time to create a custom map for your bike that runs smoothly and efficiently under all of the conditions you ride in, be it steady highway cruising, climbing a steep grade riding two-up, or slogging through rush hour traffic. Many shops will use a pre-made map, making adjustments only at wide open throttle to generate a nice looking dyno sheet. This method neglects the portions of the map that are used 99% of the time.  GMS is equipped with a top-of-the-line DynoJet 250i dynamometer with load control so that we can simulate all of the conditions you will encounter out on the road and give you the best possible end result. We know electronic fuel injection inside and out and can create custom maps for anything from a bone stock bike to a radical drag bike. We can work with any tuning device currently on the market. If you need recommendations on injector sizing, which tuner to use, or anything else EFI related give us a call.  If your bike is carbureted, we haven't forgotten about you. We have extensive carb tuning experience for both street and race applications. Your carbureted bike can benefit from dyno tuning just like a fuel injected model.  Many riders are looking to increase the power output of their touring bike or cruiser. There are no shortage of shops out there promising to deliver giant horsepower numbers with dyno sheets to back it up. Yet in day-to-day riding their bikes overheat in traffic, spit and pop, and worst of all they struggle to keep up with their buddies when they roll on the throttle on the highway.  A lot of these problems are a result of using parts that are not suited for the application in which they are being used. A common mistake is choosing cam shafts that are too aggressive. Bigger is not always better. Bad tunes on EFI bikes also contribute to a lot of issues.  At GMS we take the time to interview our customers and determine how they ride, how the bike will be used, and what their expectations are. We then tailor a package specifically for that individual. Our focus is on real-world, reliable, usable power. For example, on a heavy touring bike, the area under the torque curve is far more important than the peak horsepower number. From Mild Street to Full-Blown Race Applications, GMS Head Work is Amongst the Top in the Industry

 With years of experience and countless hours of flow bench testing, Gregg's head porting looks like art work and performs as good as it looks. Gregg knows how to set up your heads to optimize your combination - be it a mild street engine or a full-blown drag bike power plant.  In addition to porting and polishing, GMS can also take your heads a step further with custom machining. If you want to make serious power, let us machine your heads with 30 degree squish bands with a set of matching custom pistons. The increase in efficiency will have your engine running to it's full potential.  GMS can relocate your pushrod holes for use in Delkron "Fatvo" engines in addition to performing any other modifications you have in mind.
